I'm living in Brazil now, so far I haven't found ready to use gum paste and I'm running out of what I brough.... what can I use? they do have a bunch of ingredients like CMC and gum tragacant? will that make fondant hard enough to make it gum paste? does anyonee has a recipe to make it from scratch?

CMC, Tylo, Tylose- should all work to harden the fondant.

Ialways make my gumpaste from scratch. There is a great recipe here if you search the recipe section

If you add CMC to your fondant it is usable straight away if you add gum Trag. you will have to allow teh mix to rest before use preferably over night but they will both help you make hardened figures and flowers. Ass for recipes I would say google and you will find 101 recipes some work better than others.
