New York Home Based Cake Business???

Does anyone know the laws or have any links explaining what I need to do to run my cake business from home or if I even can??? I rent a commercial kitchen but it is expensive and hard for me because I have three small children. Can I somehow operate from home in Nassau County??? TIA

Contact your department of agriculture that is where a home processor falls in ny state, unforturnately alot depends on zoning laws in local cities and counties.
