Coloring Icing

Can I color buttercream icing with the neon dye colors. The kind that comes 4 little bottles to a box. Or does that effect icing concistiancy?

You can. Depending on the thickness of the colors and how dark you want it may affect the consistancy but you can always add in a little more powder sugar to thicken it up.

TY so much for the response. I had already bought this stuff to dye easter eggs. Now have a hot pink peace sign cake to make and hated to spend extra on the wilton dye colors if I could just use this stuff.

Is it the liquid kind? If so, you cannot use it in icing or it will totally mess up the icing consistency. Americolor makes wonderful neon colors, it is their "electric" line of colors.
