I have to make 3 cakes this weekend that are chocolate with the peanut butter cup filling I got from this site...I'm wondering if I can also use the filling as the icing underneath the fondant...or will it ruin the MMF?? I'm afraid if I use buttercream under the fondant there will be too many different tastes...choc, peanut butter, buttercream and MMF...any suggestions?
Did I mention that these cakes have to be shaped into music notes...if anyone has made a music note cake can you let me know!

I always use a good layer of buttercream underneath the fondant. No one eats the fondant, they usually peel it away.

I usually use regular buttercream under it as well..but I need to know if the peanut butter cup filling can also be used under the MMF or will it ruin it b/c of the oils in the peanut butter???

I like peanut butter, but using it as the filling and the frosting sounds overwhelming. You could use a little pb filling to flavor the buttercream instead. I think the pb will be fine underneath the mmf unless the cake is going to set out in the heat.

It's only a tbsp of pb with choc and buttercream mixed together! I was just worried about the oils melting or ruining the MMF! I will give it a try!
Thanks
