Can I stack without needing support? I want to do a tree stump with 3 layers of cake. Will this collapse under the weight of the fondant or will it be ok? I will start with 10" layers. THANKS!

You should be fine. I've stacked more layers than that with no support.

I believe the general rule is you need support every 4inches you build up.
