Hi,

Will royal icing flowers melt if I put them on SMBC? I am preparing in advance for a cake, and I would rather use RI than gumpaste (I can make them much faster). Will they melt?

I'm not a professional, but I think they will melt. I placed an RIT on top of a buttercream cake and it started to break down after the first day.

Royal icing does not like the moisture. So if you put the cake on the fridge they could pick up condensation coming out and cause them to soften or melt. I also wouldn't close them up in an airtight container, like a cake carrier as they will also absorb moisture from the icing that way.
