Simple question....
What is your favorite topping on a cheese cake or your favorite cheese cake flavor combinations?
I'm kind of a purist when it comes to cheesecake; I usually prefer it plain, with a hint of lemon flavor and no additions or toppings. However, I absolutely love it with a swirl of rasperry puree in it, and many years ago Red Lobster had one that had some type of coconut macaroon layer baked on top that I really liked.
As much as I like chocolate and cheesecake, I don't like chocolate cheesecake. Go figure...
I'm with CakesByJen2; I am a purist when it comes to cheesecake. Classic plain cheescake with, if anything, fresh strawberries on top. The recipe I use is from the 1980s version of the Good Housekeeping Illustrated Cookbook and I will never try any other recipe. The feedback I usually get is that it is the best cheesecake the taster has ever had.
I do make a chocolate marbled variation of it for my DD and DH, no topping on that one.
