Can I use Wiltons White White icing colour to make my gumpaste white?

I'm not sure how well the Wilton white works, but I have Americolor White which doesn't seem to make that much difference. I read a top on here a few years ago though about using a small drop of violet to make BC white... maybe it will work for gumpaste and fondant too? It doesn't seem to make sense but it works for my BC (which is half butter and half shortening). Whitens it up really nicely!
It really works for BC. I'm not sure how or why but I'm sure someone could explain it. Just use a small amount though... you might even want to take a small piece of gumpaste and try with a tiny, tiny bit of violet. I don't know how well it will work with gumpaste and I'd hate to give you bad advice and have it ruin your whole batch.
I hope it works for gumpaste also - No worries I will try on a small amount of the gumpaste. I will come back and let you know if it works out
