My father-in-law has requested a lemon flavored cake. Can someone please tell me what type of icing tastes good with this? Thanks so much for your help, I've never made a lemon cake before.

I use a vanilla buttercream, but you could also add in a little lemon curd to give it some zing.

Butter cream with Lemon extract.
Yummy fillings with lemon are blueberry or raspberry.
