It is beautiful. You should also post the front of the cake. I would love to see it. Great job on the string work.
I still have not managed the nerve to try working with fondant yet.
Great work!!
This is beautiful....wouldn't any bride love this as her own special cake for a bridal shower or even waiting on her at her wedding reception?
That is truly a beautiful work of art! I have heard that MMF is easier to work with than regular fondant-anyone care to comment on that??? Your stringwork is exceptional!!!
What a great cake! I especially love the bride's train. Nice job!

I feel that way about buttercream, LOL! My hand is not as steady as I would like it to be when doing ruffles/borders/etc. I could never have done the stringwork in the OP's picture. *Still* have not mastered the buttercream rose, although I am getting better. Maybe it would help if I could make it down to Phoenix for a class sometime ... everything I have done so far is self taught. Fondant is really easy to work with! Especially if you just use cutters, embossers and your imagination In less than 2 months I have learned enough about working with fondant to be confident doing wedding cakes (if I get an order for one, that is!). Give it a shot, you probably won't be sorry
Great job! I still haven't tackled the fondant yet. Need to try it, I guess.
Wandootie
YOUR CAKE IS BEAUTIFUL. I STILL HAVE NOT TACKLED FONDANT EITHER. I AM NOT SURE IF I REALLY WANT TO OR NOT. I TRIED WITH WILTON'S FONDANT AND IT WAS BAD. I GUESS THAT IS WHY I HAVEN'T TRIED THE MMF YET. MAYBE IT WILL BE DIFFERENT BUT I JUST DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO EXPERIMENT. HOPEFULLY WHEN THE KIDS GO BACK TO SCHOOL I WILL HAVE THE TIME.
Great Job! This cake is very lovely. Can I ask if you did the stringwork in BC or royal? I also love the train - very nice.
