Tomorrow I am deliverying my first wedding cake. I'm a terrified mess.

So I want to pack an "emergency kit" for any dings the cake may suffer in transit and want to make sure it has everything I could need.

What all do you carry in your kits for delivery?

well it depends on the cake for me. I just think about what could go wrong and what I would need to fix it. So I have some paper towels if buttercream, pallete knife, matching buttercream or fondant (depending). Cutters if I used any if I have to whip out another "something"". So Just look at your cake, think about how you would fix it if you were home and bring it. Bring as much as you can store. Best to be OVER prepared than not at all, use the old saying "Prepare for the worst and pray for the best!" Then hopefully you won't need to use it icon_smile.gif Good Luck and congrats!!

the basics:
Icing/fondant in matching colors
any tips used on cake
spatulas (small and large)
cup (in case I need hot water to smooth)
small pair of scissors
ribbon, if used on cake
towel
pen
sign off sheet w/ emergency contact number

Stuff you don't think about:

Hand sanitizer
Extra Gloves (I usually bring 6 pairs)
business cards
camera

I don't stack on site, so most of my cakes are DNR's (drop n runs icon_biggrin.gif ), but I have been known to bring my cake lifter just to be safe.
