How Can I Give Gumpaste A Sheen

I am making a jalapeno pepper and I need to give it a little bit of a sheen. I know vodka/gel paint will leave it shiny, but also streaky. What else can I do??

How about lustre dust? You could also try to dust with petal dust then steam the color in place. This tends to give the color a little sheen.

A light spray of vegetable oil can also give a nice, natural sheen.

I've heard that veg. spray will work, but is it messy? icon_confused.gif
