HI everyone.. I use bakels rtr fondant most of the time and love it.. My only problem is when i add wiltons paste colour to it, it crack on the edges of my cake..
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I'm using powdered sugar to roll it out. and i'm neededing the fondant just enough to get the colour through..
Should i be using shortening instead of the powedered sugar?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions ![]()

try dusting some sugar on your work surface and rub some short.. on your hands try not to use more sugar unless the fondant its sticking to the surface and basicly you just have to make up with the short.. the sugar that you r putting in to your fondant it has to be neutral. dont worry you will get the hang of it try diferent ways and amounts and remember that practice makes perfect. Good luck.
Thanks Dalig, ill give the shortening a go and see how that works
I have 2 cakes next weekend so ill let you know how i went. ![]()
