I'm making a cake for my father's 60th birthday party. 
It will be a surprise party with about 80 people.
I want to make a 3 tier cake using maroon (his favorite color) for the bottom tier, white for the middle tier, and black for the top tier. I usually make my own fondant, but black is such a pita that I will be buying Satin Ice instead. 
I would like to buy Satin Ice for the maroon as well since I figure that color will be just as difficult as black. However, I've looked several places and I can't find Satin Ice in maroon. Can I use powdered color and add it to red Satin Ice? Or do they make Maroon Satin Ice?
Any help is appreciated!!!
Kitagrl is right...I always use Satin Ice red with brown added to make maroon. Just add a little at a time and let it sit before adding any more... the color changes with time.
