I keep getting streaks, lots of them. When I went over an area a second time trying cover them up, the first layer of paint came off leaving a white spot that the paint wouldn't stick to at all. I was painting with silver luster dust mixed with vodka on white fondant. Is it the ratio of powder to vodka?
TIA
Jo
I am by no means an expert but when I want a solid Silver I color the fondant grey before I paint with the silver luster dust. I have painted a dress with the silver dust I just wet the brush with the vodka and then put the brush in the dust and move it around a bit and go for it. Don't know if this helps. If not i'm sure someone with more experience will have a better solution for you ![]()
i'm no expert either, but what worked for me was to let the first coat totally dry before doing the second. otherwise, it just pulls the paint off. also, after the second or third coat i just dry brush it with just the dust and that totally covers it. i did it with that ring in my pictures.
