Approximately how much cake will 1 pound of fondant cover? I am going to do my daughter's wedding cake next month. We haven't decided how big the cake will be yet, but I will need to know how much fondant to make when we do decide.

One pound of fondant will cover a 6 inch round cake that is 4 inches tall. A standard recipe of MMF makes 2.5 lbs. HTH

Here is a link to a chart from the wilton site that shows in Ounces how much fondant is needed to cover certain sizes of cakes. This may help you to calculate how much you need to make. Congratulations to your daughter on her wedding!
