I have just been and bought my first tub of tylo powder and cant wait to play with it! but there are no instructions or info with it! can anyone advise me of how much to use with fondant and how best to apply it/mix it or whatever? TIA ![]()
It goes a very long way so I use it to make my own glue now too, the instructions are on the side of the pot. So much cheaper than buying it!

Peg818 i used have just used 1tsp in 8oz and i found it very difficult to work with. it was hard as rock! lol. should i try using less or is it ment to be that stiff? Lyndsey there are no instructions at all on the pot i have.
would you mind posting them for me please?
thanks for your replys.
If you think you have put too much tylose powder into the fondant and it is hard as a rock, mix some of this with an equal amount of fondant (you might have to microwave it a few seconds) . Let it rest a few minutes, and you should have a more workable mixture.
Hi Katie
On my pot of tylo the instructions say...
Mix 30 parts water to 1 part tylo powder (mix will look lumpy to start) Leave over night and you'll have clear thickish gel. Add more water to obtain the consistency you require.
I think I only used about a quarter of a teaspoon of powder with about 8 teaspoons of water to start off.
