I have to make 36 cupcakes for work tomorrow (its currently 1am in Michigan and have to be to work @ 8:30am). Anyhow...I went to make my frosting which calls for 1 1/2 cap shortening and wouldn't you know it...I'm completely out. I made 2 trips to the store and forgot it each time...can I make it without and just add more margarine? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!!!! Oh and the recipe I use calls for granulated sugar not powdered so...that also means I have no PS on hand either...UGH what kind of baker am I...oh yeah the absent minded kind!!!!

Thanks!

I honestly can't help you there....I only use butter in my icings.

If you do have butter and eggs you can make Swiss Meringue Buttercream and use that. There's lots of recipes here on CC or Epicurious.com
