i have a customer request for a pink velvet cake for this week end..i couldn't find anywhere a pink food color...a baker/friend told me to use pink gel paste icing color like wilton, americolor instead..has anyone tried this?i haven't heard gel paste on cake batter, on icing,fondant & gum paste, yes but not on cake batter!!..help please ...thanks in advance
Sure, it'll work just fine. You just use a little at a time because it's more intense than the watered down colors you use to dye Easter eggs, etc.
