tiggy2..I am asking myself the same question.. Is it worth the money and will I use it alot.. BUT on the other hand I really want one and it will give me time to experiment and have fun and hopefully learn more.. Just my opinion... icon_biggrin.gif

DH thinks I should just sell the expression as I don't really do a lot of paper crafting so that would help offset the price of the cricut cake.

Tiggy, you might want to see what they're going for on eBay and sell it there if they're decent. If I had gotten one at Christmas, that's probably what I would have done - sold the Expression and put it towards the Cake.

I'll put in on DH website at work first and see if anyone wants it.

Yes you can use the Cruicut Cake with paper. My new blog will be up and talk about how it can be done.

In your trial, you mentioned that the cake blade didn't provide clean cuts on the paper. So would you still end up purchasing the deep cut blade whether you buy the expression or the cricut cake?

You don't need the deep cut housing with the cricut cake.

I just looked at the comparison of the expression and the cake. You can definately tell a difference.

The only reason you may need the deep cut housing for the Cricut Cake is if you were to cut cardboard. The cake blade works fine on paper, we just tested it on cardboard and the deep cut blade works a bit better - not surprising since that is what its made for.

Maybe I should keep the expression for paper and stencils since I have the deep cut housing and several extra blades.

I agree with leah. All the techniques were developed with the expression.

Leah...Could you please tell me if there is a difference between SCAL and MTC. I don't know anything about them, but want to purchase the easiest one. I appreciate your comments. Thank you

I'm not leah but I think Make the cut is easier to use and you don't have to convert images to SVG.

tiggy2...."Thank You" so much for answering. I don't understand about not converting the images to SVG's on make the cut. I thought that was what type of image was on both...that is why you could manipulate it? I know so little about it....only enough to be totally confused! icon_lol.gif Anyway, you were very nice for responding.

That's what DH wants me to do also. I know is coming up on HSN on April 14. Can't wait to see if they have a good deal on the cricut cake.
