I have a friend who would like a chocolate cake with orange filling but I don't want to make marmalade and that's the only orange filling recipe I have. I'd like to do an orange curd type of thing and am wondering ...is it the same as making a lemon curd but just subbing the fresh lemon juice with fresh squeezed orange juice?
I've use orange creamscicle frosting as a filling for chocolate cake. It's very good.

Here is one:
3/4 cup sugaqr
2 tbsp cornstarch
dash salt
3/4 cup + 3 tbsp orange juice
2 slightly beaten egg yolks
1 tbsp butter
In saucepan combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Gradually add juice. Stir in egg yolks. Cook over med heat until thickened and bubbly. Boil 1 minute and remove from heat. Stir in butter. Cool to room temp without stirring.
I have not made this version before, but I did use the lemon version of this same recipe last week for my DD's b-day cake and there was none left!
