Hi,
I am new to this site. I have to make a baby shower cake next month and want to make baby blocks. however, the cake needs to feed about 50-60 women. any suggestions? Any advice would be appreciated!

How about a sheet cake that looks like a blanket with 3 baby blocks on top and maybe a few toys around it?

Have the blocks with letters facing out of the name or at least BABY. A message of some type could be written on the "blanket".

Ooooo! I am so using that baby blanekt idea! I have a baby shower cake next week, I was already planning on topping a sheet cake with blocks, but now I think I'll make make a baby blanket from MMF and drape it across the cake as well as adding baby blocks to the top! I don't want to cover the whoel cake in MMF because so many people don't always like it, but I could easily make it an accent! GREAT idea, Thanks!

Hi Everyone,
I recently made a baby block cake for the 1st time and always learn a few lessons on a new design. This is what I learned - used a 9 x 9 pan which was good as I needed 18 pieces and each block served 2 people. I learned that a pound cake would work much better than the average type cake mix. To make the blocks straight and to hold up a more dense cake is probably better. I made my blocks 3 x 3 x 3 (too high). Next time only 2 layers. Otherwise, everyone loved the concept and they basically turned out pretty good. It's a cute idea. Good luck and pm me with any other questions. icon_razz.gif
