I made royal icing last night that I need for a wedding cake. My problem is the red is not red... it's hot pink. icon_cry.gif How do I get the royal icing to be red?

I used the "no taste red" and "Christmas Red" from Wilton to see if the 2 together would help me the color I needed.

Please I need this before Sunday any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Red is a very hard color to get. the last time I made red royal icing, I started with a dark pink then added red. It turned red alot faster for me.

I would add a little more red. It should darken as it sits.

Thank you will be going home for lunch to add more red and let it sit. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed on this one. Thanks again.

You're welcome icon_smile.gif Next time you could try americolor red. ( I haven't tried it yet) but I have seen lot of people on here that use it and say it takes very little to get a good red color.
