This is the current food code. Most, I think all states, use it. I think it's redone every 3-4 yrs.

I went right to the section on fingernails to reassure mysef that I keep my nails short for a reason. When I see videos and photos of people decorating cake with tons of rings and fingernail polish, I gag.

I don't even wear my wedding band when working (and it says you can). Seems to me that bacteria could get caught under the ring, not only that, but getting icing, fondant, batter, etc. under it is a real pain and you have to take it off and clean it. I learned that long ago when I cooked with my mom. LOL
I keep my nails so short that if I have a itch I can't even scratch it...very annoying.
