I am making my first baby shower cake and I have a few questions.
I have to take it a few miles sooooo

I am setting a pair of booties on the top of the cake and a bow around the bottom of the top layer. (both gumpaste)
The cakes are buttercream.....will that travel okay or will it be so heavy it messes up the BC? And should I just attach the gumpaste by sticking them on the BC? I have never used gumpaste before.

I had kind of the same question the other day..this is what I've learned since..

-make sure your gumpaste it's rolled out very thin.
-you can glue it with BC or Royal icing, I was told to make a circle on the piece leaving a whole to create suction.,
-I like to wait till i get to the place to put the toppper, maybe u can do this for the bow too, just take extra icing with you.

Are you using a crusting buttercream? I use IMBC, and it made it easy to push the gp peaces..look at my winnie the pooh on my I said I am pretty new myself don't expect much LOL...

I hope this help.
