Hey everyone, I am just starting to do fondant (I attached my first cake with fondant
) but not sure what to charge for fondant cakes. Is there some rule of thumb? On my wedding cakes I charge a base price of $2.00 per serving and then there could be additional charges based on extra things the bride would want, but not real sure about what to charge for the fondant stuff. Any suggestions would be great appreciated. thanks to all
what size are the layers? And what fillings and flavors on this cake? I would add at least 30 extra bucks onto that cake if I were you beacause of all the work involved. Marbling and cut outs and different size beads/balls all over. I haven't really seen a set price for fondant but it deff ups the work so goes the price. I guess the ingreadiants x3 plus fondant charge would be a good way to start your prices. Also consider amount of time invested in difficulty of design your usuing. Hope I was somewhat of a help. That cake is awesome it is in my favs!
I am jealous by the way! ![]()
it is round 12" 9" and 6". it is a styrofoam cake for display in my shop.
very nice for a first fondant cake! dummy or not!
My fondant cakes start .50 cents higher than a buttercream cake, everything else being equal.
Depending on the level of hand work and time in decorating the cake, I'll add .25 per serving for extras.
So, my bc cakes are $3.00
A basic fondant cake starts at $3.50
A fondant cake with lots of scroll work would be $3.75
Most places I've seen have fondant costing .50 to 1.00 more per serving than bc.
