Hi guys, I am a first time cake carver.
Does anyone know of any recipes that are fool proof for carving? Prefer chocolate for this particular project but any suggestions I can 'bank' would be appreciated. Also, can you tell me what types of recipes and what characteristics they should and shouldn't have for carving.
Thank you so much.
Hi and Welcome to CC, Brunbabe. ![]()
A lot of AU and NZ members prefer mud cakes for carving.

Here is a link to a good dense mudcake http://www.cakesandmore.org/bl.....r-filling/ It is a good one to use for carving. It's better to use a denser cake as it will hold it's shape better.
Is this the link you were trying to post:
