Hello everyone. I need some input on a bday cake I have to make.
I have some new toys and want to work with them but sometimes I tend to get too "busy" with stuff on the cake.

This will be a two tiered cake. Bottom layer 8" and top 6"
(2 layers each with fillings)

Toys to play with:
2" quilted diamond cutter
Wilton large floral mat
large amounts of pink, white and brown fondant
(a small truck load of various other cake decos, cutters, stencils, Sugarveil)

My idea but am afraid this wouldn't look right:
cover bottom layer in white and use quilt cutter and pearlized sugar pearls
top layer covered in light pink fondant with floral mat impression

Please....add any thoughts, additions, ideas....

hmmm...it might work.
How about if you roll out some white fondant, imprint your diamond design and roll out some pink fondant and imprint your floral design? Just small amounts of each.

Then lay them next to each other, overlapping slightly, to see if it would look good or not. It's like a test run without having to actually put the fondant on cake.

I wish I had a better "eye" for colors when it comes to this stuff. Right now I have all three colors of fondant out on the table and I have been staring at them...lol

Well, If it's not too horrible I will post the pic on Monday.

Thanks

Hmm- how about doing both tiers with the diamond cutter with the dragees and use the floral mat to accent a ribbon around the tiers and a multiple loop bow for the top? I love having so many toys to choose from, but I get the same way- it's hard to pick out which ones to use next! icon_smile.gif
