My daughter and I want to make a tractor cake for my father's 100th birthday but I need some help.
I want the tractor to look as if it is on the wheels and not flat on the cake so how do I do that.
What kind of board do I use to set the cake on. I don't think a regular cake board will be strong enough.
What kind of cake would be better to sculpt with, pound cake or regular cake?
So for those are my questions so any help would be appreciated. I am sure I will need more help later.
Thanks
sounds like a nice cake you want to make. as far as under the cake to hold it up why dont you make hay bales to help hold it up?
I made one and used a small block of styrofoam covered in black fondant under the main part of the tractor to hold it up off of the cake board. I used WASC, and I usually use foam board (1/2" or two 1/4" glued together) as my cake board.
Hope this helps.
