Ok, I the matron of honor in a wedding and will be putting on a shower for my niece (the bride) in Feb. I have the shower all planned to follow a love theme with truffles, cheesecake bites, fudge, etc. I am also wanting to make choc. covered strawberries to go along with the cake. I have seen so many awesome ones on here but many are dark choc. and more of a grooms cake. I don't really like white icing with choc. drizzle. So, I am fighting with myself on the decorating of it. I want it to be nice, but not to compete with the wedding cake. I will also be doing a cake later for the reception.
I am thinking of a square or rectangle base with choc. icing and then a heart shape in the center with white icing with strawberries around. But, then again, I need to serve 100 people and don't think that will be enough. So, thought of a square stacked cake but don't want too much choc. Would also like to add some pink in somewhere. Ideas? Please help me to quit fighting myself....lol

I have spent hours searching for the perfect cake and really cant decide. I find I like bits and pieces of different ones. That is good, because then the cake isnt a copy but a compilation of many different ones.

The next one is beautiful but way too much for a shower, however, I think the colors all look nice together.

This one is more whimsical but I love how they mixed white, pink, red and choc. All together. Just not sure it really fits the bride.

How about a white choocolate cake with strawberry filling, iced in strawberry buttercream, with white chocolate buttercream piping? Instead of doing all chocolate dipped strawberries, you could dip some in white chocolate and pink-dyed white chocolate.
