Hello All -
It's my daughter's first birthday in March and I want to make her a Carousel cake. I am really scared about the assembly. I have a feeling it will fall down or collapse. Can some please give me some instructions on how to make it stand?
I was thinking of a 10 inch round cake for the bottom and a dome shaped cake for the top part like this cake:

How do I make sure the top doesnt fall down?

if its properly doweled, it will be fine 
just think of it as a tiered cake, slightly missing a tier!
you could easily put a dowel in the center too, most carousels would have a centre bit anyway.
