How Do I Get A Plum Purple???

Hi I was wondering I anyone knows how I can get a deeper purple shade more like plum color, using gel coloring in fondant??? I have a violet purple and it seems to be the only purple available but it is nowhere near deep enough. Thank you all in advance for any help.

I always have the worst time with purple!! I find I have to add alot of pink colouring to make it the right colour, otherwise it looks blue, but, add too much pink/red and it looks brown!! I hate purple... I'm on a purple strike now!! lol!!

When we needed a plum color we added black to our violet colored fondant. Just a tiny bit at a time....

You're going to have to mix colors to get the shade you want. Use sky blue, royal blue, super red/red red, and burgundy to help you acheive the shade you want.
