I'm looking for a scratch white (non-WASC) cake recipe and am going nuts looking for one in the recipes section. I want to be able to carve and stack the cake too.

I love the Cooks Illustrated white cake recipe. It has a nice flavor, good crumb, and it always rises well for me. Here is a link to a blog that has the recipe.

I personally prefer the Rebecca Rather White-on-White buttermilk cake, it's to DIE for! It is my go-to white cake and I have several friends who've stated it's the best cake they've ever eaten.
