Good one, tallgood . All4cake, thanks for the information on the additional water. I'll try that
I bought citric acid last weekend but couldn't remember why. Now I do. But it's liquid, so how would you add a pinch of liquid?
I have made strings of pearls several times, and I used dental floss. I just rolled the pearls and let them dry a bit and then strung them with no problems.
Can someone please tell me the difference between the unbreakable gel and gelentin sheet? Are they the same stuff? What is Unbreakable gel made of?
You can also buy citric acid at some pharmacies. We have an old-time pharmacy where I live and they have it. Just sayin...
Unbreakable Gel...this sounds awesome!
I can't wait to try it....
I wonder if it is simalar to the "SugarVeil" "Veil...
Anyone know?
I used the method of cutting uniform-sized disks of fondant/gumpaste mix with a circle cutter, rolling them and then stringing them with cotton thread after they had set up over night. I don't have an issue with the cotton thread as it is also used as stamen on flowers. Think back to the candy necklaces of childhood... they were strung on elastic and were certainly still considered edible.
Has anyone tried putting unbreakable gel through an extruder? Might take some of the hard work out of piping it?. Or do you think that would not work?
This sounds so cool, I can't wait to try it. How does it work? So when the unbreakable gel is dry do you use it the same as you would a thread to string the pearls? Do you use a needle or just push it through the hole of the fondant pearl?
