Baseball Cake... Help Needed

I am new to making my own birthday cakes. My stepson wants a Baseball cake. I am going to try this one. Can anyone give me some ideas? Thanks alot.

I made one using the Wilton ball pan. It's very easy, because you only need 2 colors of icing (red and white) and a star tip. Mine was 3 tiers and the bump on top was a mistake that I learned from -- long story, LOL!!! It's in my photos.

Edited to add: After looking at my own photo again, I realized that I did need 2 tips, the star for the base part and a round tip for piping on the stitching.
