1 Stick Of Butter??

Hello everybody,

I have noticed that alot of recipes on CC call for a stick of butter. How much is a stick of butter that the recipes refer to? Here in the uk a stick of butter is 225g. Is that right? Is it the same is the us?

A stick of butter is 4 oz or 1/2 cup.

4 ounces = 113.398093 grams

so your stick would be a tad under 2 of our sticks.

just cut your stick in half to get one of ours (close enough)

there is 454 grams in a pound right? so I'd say go with what Doug said...seems like your 1 stick is about 1/2 a pound. I'd cut that stick right in half and use that!
