I have searched CC to no avail. I searched online for instructions on how to make candy canes at home, but was wondering if I could get some personal experiences about it. I know it's easier to go and buy them, lol, but I would like to put some on a competition cake I am making and would prefer to make them myself rather than buy them (more difficulty points and all that).

Don't have personal experience, but saw them made on "Unwrapped".
Making the candy syrup didn't look technically difficult, but you had to work fast to pull the hot candy and twist into shape.
Of course, the candy makers doing the pulling/forming made it look very easy, but I'm sure without experience that would be the most difficult part...
