I made this cake as a donation, but have never done a cake like this so I am unclear what to charge if anyone asks.

It is about 15.5" long by 8.5" long by 11.5' tall. I live in San Diego, so I can charge on the higher end, but am not sure what the range would be.

Any help would be appreciated.

I wouldn't take less than $500. That might even be low in your area.

i have no idea what pricing would be - but with the amount of detail work and the perfection, please charge accordingly!
curious too - to know what the price is. dont undercharge your work is amazing.

That is a big cake, with HUGE details. Excellent work, excellent! Off the top of my head, and I'm in Virginia (much cheaper then San Diego, California) $900. I think you would at least chrage $1400.

Your cake is quite awesome. i agree, no less than $500 in any area of the USA. In your area, you might do much better than that. it's very detailed and realistic, humourous and creative. Much more than "just cake". It could be a tree ornament, story book, christmas figurine....very cute.

Rough estimate here:
2x2 inch slices 2 inches tall (which is what I use for party size) and this cake should serve at least 125.
I did a web search for San Diego bakeries and the cheapest price I found was $4/serving for sheet cakes. That means sheet cakes for 125 people in San Diego is at least $500! And, quite frankly, I didn't see anybody who had anything near this complicated in their galleries.
When you factor in the carving, the figures, etc. this cake should be AT LEAST twice (probably even three times) that much.

BTW Penanera, some of the photos on several of your web page aren't showing up.

I charge almost triple for carved cakes as I do for regular cakes...so figure out how much a regular cake/serv. in your area is and AT LEAST triple it!!! That cake is amazing!!!

I would say it's not a HUGE stretch to say you should be getting around $10.00/serv. for that beauty!

Beautiful cake. $1000 - $1400. You don't need to sell more than one to have a nice week.

Wonderful Job! Love it! I would sell this cake for $12 per serving, yields around 100 servings it look like. So $1200 minimum!
