Any 2010 to do list you plan to accomplish?
I plan to attend ICES san Dieg by saving money.
Learn to bake gluten free and vegan cakes
Be more active with my local cake group in New York and encourage my cake friends to join your own local cake club.
I plan to participate in great american wedding cake competition and open my bussiness.
I want to make a wedding cake and get paid for it. I also want to get my new cake design studio operational. (It is all set up and ready to go, I just need to practice with the new blodgett oven)
My goal is to win the powerball lottery so I can quit decorating cakes for sale after June to be able to take care of 2 "New Arrivals" due in May. I'd much rather be spending my time with the grandbabies!

Too cute. I hope you hit it as well so you can play with your coming Grands!
I'd like to actually decorate a cake. So far, all I've managed to do is put together and smooth frost a few cakes... tasted good, and looked impressive to friends and family (who are obviously easily impressed), but I don't manage my time well, and haven't gone on to decorate them. I want to get done early enough to do the fun stuff, too!

TYVM! (Think I should have a plan 'B'? lol)
Might not be a bad idea... ![]()
I plan (okay so hope actually) on being in my own shop by summer, no more renting for me!!!
I've got the ball rolling just looking for some more $$$ to finish up!
That Powerball plan sounds like a good one ![]()
Go to ICES and go to a cake competation, if I can afford it.
Every year I think about how I have so many supplies sitting at home that I never use. I really should make the time to sit down at least once a month and try something new or use one of those forgotten supplies on a cake. Or even just try a new recipe.
I'd love to get my cake room cleaned out and organized once and for all. ![]()
I need to organize all my Wilton Class related stuff as well. It is spread out from room to room in my house.
I also need to work up the courage to actually pull out the isomalt and sugar supplies I bought in St Charles and actually use them once and for all.
This is my list, of course if I will actually do any of it....
to be able to smooth buttercream icing!
I can help you with that goal!

Move into a place that the kitchen can be licensed and start my own part-time cake deco business.
To make my first wedding cake - I have an order for 6th of Feb
Arrange a cake camp for my fellow amateur cake makers here in Sweden.
Learn to make more flowers and arrange them in sprays and garlands
Pipe - i only do fondant and gumpaste and would LOVE to learn proper piping for intricate patterns, borders, dots and so on
Charge properly for my cakes!!!
Mensch, your avatars are the best. We were watching some PIL videos the other day and yelling "Johhhhnny!" But I kind of miss Henry Rollins.
My cake goals are to clean out my office and organize it. That's it. I think it will take all year to do it.
Thanks for listing 2010 goals. Just like the Nike commercial "Just Do It"

Yeah, I've tried it - for some reason I can't seem to get the pressure just right and it bulges at the edges... and cracks.... Maybe I haven't found the best icing recipe yet....
Cake goals:
-Get my shop space finished out so I can start baking there! I've already started to set up appointments with plumbers so I can get my grease trap installed.
-Build vendor partnerships so they consistently refer clients (I actually started this in October. But I'm just now starting to get to know people and talk to them regularly)
I want to open a bakery!!!! Cakes, cookies, pies, muffins, pastries, and breads.
Actually too many to list but a couple of biggies are:
1- go to the mini classes in FL in Jan.
2- find a bigger commercial spot I can afford.
3- getting more confident working with sugar & flowers.
4- have wedding cakes booked for almost every weekend through Nov. 2010.
lots of others but these I believe are pretty important
mine would be to
do at least one wedding cake a month,
buy a deluxe oven,
get my 20qt hobart mixer fixed
and keep up with all the paper work.
over this past year i have just thrown all receipts and statements in a bag and i have to get them all in order before jan 10th. i dont want to do that again this coming year.'
oh and also put my cakeboss membership to work, again, its something i have neglected to do this whole year.
