How To Make Support For Spiked Heel Shoe Cake?
Decorating By vescakes07 Updated 12 Dec 2009 , 9:00pm by vescakes07
Help - Have an order for a Louboutin shoe cake, not gumpaste, all cake. I've seen pictures on CC of shoes with high, spike heels. Could someone provide tips on the type of support used ? I want the shoe to stand up. but may have to make it lying down if I can't figure out the support. Any assistance is appreciated ....

Thanks Doug, Though I didn't read your post till today- your idea got to my brain some how. I doubled up on foam core, slightly cutting into the boards to bend them where I needed to. I used a cake support column with the wide end at the top and put a dowel throough the entire piece. I covered the heal with RKT, melted chocolate and fondant. I will try to attach a picture. Thanks again
