I'm pretty sure I saw a post or an article on this, but for the life of me I can not find it right now. I'm planning my Christmas cake and would like to know the best way to make a gift box cake with the lid open. Thanks in advance everyone!

I haven't made a gift box with the lid open but I have made a shoe box with the lid open (in my pics). I used a piece of foam core and cut it to the size that I needed. I covered it in fondant. Also underneath because I was scared that the foam particles would be everywhere...i glued a piece of cake board to the bottom. I took a wooden dowel and used it to prop the lid open by sticking it into the cake and the lid.
