Hello everyone,
Im new to the cake world and this weekend I am attempting the impossible for a newbie cake decorator. Now, Im in process of making a cake for my boyfriends birthday and its going to be decorated it with lots of shapes made out of fondant.
Could I possibly pre-make the shapes days in advance?
Im trying work with a schedule so I wont end up cramming on the last day trying to assemble the cake and dress for the diner party.
A few pointers from experienced cake lovers please! TIA!
You could make the shapes a few days in advance. Set the fondant shape on saran wrap and then close the saran wrap. Press the saran wrap into the fondant (but not so much that you damage the fondant).
Then put the shapes in a ziplock bag. Squish all the air out. Then put a damp papertowel on the outside of the ziplock bag.
