I have to do a VERY special cake today, and my right shoulder is completely shot! I have my cakes made and my buttercream made, but not colored. I don't think there is any way I can mix the color into my buttercream by hand. My question- If I mix my color in with my mixer, is it going to be full of air? What can I do?
I always mix it in the mixer, if you are worried about too much air getting in, blend on the lowest setting with the paddle, not the whip attachment.
Do you have a super slow speed on your mixer, sorry, don't know what type of mixer you have.
I have a KA- so I can mix on STIR. Thanks- I have mixed smaller batches of color with my hand-held mixer before and had a mess of air. I'm a total amateur...so I appreciate tried and true advice.
