I was just wondering if anyone could help me.. I have a cake order for Friday and the person wants one layer to be zebra print, I explained to them that what she was ordering would normally be done in fondant. She doesnt want fondant and has asked me to do it buttercream and I have no idea if you could do it and how you would do it. Can anyone help me, thanks in advance!

I have done 3 zebra cakes using buttercream. I just used a small star tip to make the stripes. They looked great. Good luck!

Same here - I have done them too, I don't use a star tip though, I use a round one (it can be about any of them depending on how big you want the stripe to be) Just make the basic shape of the stripe, then go back and smooth it with viva - that way it "blends" in with the icing underneath.
