I can't find my recipe anywhere icon_sad.gif It was a scratch recipe, using fresh lemon zest and juice; with an American lemon buttercream frosting. Could anyone possibly point me to a great recipe? The grocery store had beautiful lemons this weekend and I bought a bag full! I've been craving lemon cake since then! Thanks so much icon_smile.gif

Edited to add: I just realized there's no lemon in the cake itself. icon_redface.gif But I imagine you could add some juice and zest to the batter.

I love Dorie Greenspan's Perfect Party Cake recipe. It's basically a white cake flavored with lemon zest and lemon juice. It has a beautiful texture and a soft lemony flavor.

How come Lemon cake receipe's always have almost double the quantity of eggs than other cake receipe's?
