Hi

I usually use edible glue like the gumpaste glue. Just brush some onto the reverse side of image and paste it onto the fondant.

I did this a few weeks ago. I used a thin layer of buttercream under the photo transfer and put a buttercream boarder around the picture.

I go over the area with a damp paper towel then apply the image. If the edges don't stick you can use a small brush to apply a small amount of water under those edges. Just don't get any water on the image as the colors will run.

You can also spray a fine mist of water on the area where it will be applied. I use my airbrush to do this and it works fine, but a spray bottle will do the trick as well.

You can lightly steam the cake and apply the transfer. A note about transfers from experience...once it touches the cake, it's stuck. You must put it exactly where you want it because you cannot move it around.
