Thanks Edna, hope you feel better too! What is the ratio of the key lime flavor and the simple syrup to each mix or recipe? I'm sure we could either use key lime instant pudding mix or even a key lime puree if we can't find what you use.

I like gingerbread cake esp in autumn, winter...1 box yellow or white cake mix, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup molasses, 1/3 cup oil, 3 eggs, 1 tsp ginger, 1/2 tsp cinnamon...yummy plus it actually works well with the taste of fondant if you decorate with thaticon_smile.gif

luvmysmoother - What type filling and icing do you use with the gingerbread cake?

I just use regular buttercream/fondant for the icing and for filling - cream cheese filling or white chocolate ganache...even apricot jam worksicon_smile.gif

I'm going to defiinitely try the pumpkin cake but I'm still stuck on this raspberry chocolate combo. Indydebi, do you mix the raspberry with chocolate buttercream? Or could a raspberry extract be added to chocolate buttercream?

Another really strange combo that taste really good is butter cake with rasberry filling, but ad a bit
of hazelnut extract to the rasberry filling. It's really good!

i think one of my fav flavors for a wedding is tuxedo cake (i do 4 layers of alternating chocolate and vanilla cake filled with whipped ganache). its 2 flavors that most people like *AND* it looks striking plated.

i also love for fall, taffy apple cake. i used apple cinnamon cake layers filled with caramel smbc...very tasty. pumpkin is good too but i like the fact that apple is not as common...
