I have an 80ish lb black lab, and he has certainly has his fun, lol.

As a puppy, during a thunderstorm, he ate about 3 square feet of bedspread because he was so scared (during the night while we were sleeping). He was throwing up and had diarrhea for a few days.

He has also eaten (and usually thrown up) socks, and knee-hi's.

The funniest (and thankfully he was ok) was air conditioning foam. Only, we didn't know it until we saw his poop outside expanding. We were baffled for a few minutes, and took us about a day to figure it out (we just happened to notice some of the foam was missing from the a/c, and then it all made sense).

Thankfully, he is fine, and has never had any bad reaction from anything.

His vet is amazed that he has passed everything without incident.

ROLF - reminded me of my first boxer who ate a piece of rope. When it came out the other end, he could seem to get rid of it. Talk about gross! I had to go help pull it out.....

i've done that too.
if you timed it right, you could get an audience and claim it's a magic trick!

Ewwwwwww that is so gross - am laughing though because I too have had to assist!

Scionmom - I'm glad your boxer is ok! icon_smile.gif
Chelleb - I also have a black lab X, she was THE worst puppy for chewing things. Destroyed a lounge, tv remote, car remote, leg of an antique phone table, shoes you name it!. She is 10 now and still goes for the sprinkler or the kids toys outside!

Thought I would also add seeing as we're all "Obviously" (poop assisting) dog lovers, that Macadamia nuts are also toxic to dogs.

lol, mine is a he. But yeah, he has destroyed many a toy in his puppy days. He is going to be 12 the end of November and was still full of puppy-ness until about a year ago or so. He is a lab/retriever mix, and fortunately, no signs of hip/joint problems yet (YEAH!!!!). He's been getting treats with glucosamine/chondroitin (prob spelled that wrong) for a few years to prevent it if we can. Had a yellow lab as a kid that had hip problems and don't want him to suffer the same fate if I can help it, ya know?

Like kids, they are so cute when they're sleeping. He's currently asleep (and dreaming, lol) next to me on the bed. icon_smile.gif

i fostered a big lab with hip problems and the glucosamine worked wonders! he was nine years old and could run like a pup.

my worst "pulling" episode happened unexpectedly in a park. in a park where there were no paper towels or latex gloves. i used leaves and avoided eye contact with passers-by.
oddly, no one stopped to offer assistance. ***shudder***.

Sorry to hear about your dog, hope everything comes out alright in the end. I know I'm sorry...I just had to. Excuse the pun! I'm bad that way.

Okay, well my boxer puppy ate a dryer sheet this weekend (he was helping me with the laundry)! Crazy dogs. Didn't seem to bother him any though.

scion I am glad the dog is ok!

I am laughing hysterically right now. Crazydoglady, you are a trip! All of you "pullers" and "assisters" bless you, I would do it but have not had to yet.

My chocolate lab loves human food so much so that she jumped on the counter and took a whole cooked chicken breast, bones and all. I had a heart attack when I noticed it was gone but thankfully we made it through that one. She ate the molding from around my back door, tore wall paper off my kitchen (I was meaning to get around to it eventually ha)...you name it she ate it. My yellow lab, god love the big goof, ate cotton balls, right out of the bag. I sniffed to see if they smelled like chicken but no luck. Vet told me not to worry, his intestines would get a good scrubbing. They are now 2 and 3 years old and can be left alone (all food put away) for hours and wont touch anything that does not belong to them.

I so wish that I could leave mine alone!!! They are 6 and 2 and like I said... they still get into anything! The older one is usually really good about it, but when she got the cookies, it was in the middle of the night and they were in a pan on the counter covered in parchment because I had been up late baking them. She had just started a 'diet' because the vet said that she was too fat... duh.. i see that everyday but she did not think that I was feeding her enough apparently. But she hasnt touched anything since!!! Knock on wood!!

once my dog ate a five pound bag of wild bird food. by the second day, he was passing bird food only like a dispenser in the pet food store.
i wondered if i could give him grass seed, run it through him and sell it as self-fertilizing lawn seed.
