Holy Moly!! I must say that my hate is off to all those cookie makers out there! I just tried doing my first batch of cookies and everything worked (cookies baked nice and had no problems the icing) but the decorating..jesh ...you guys have patience! i think i could have decorated a three tiered cake in the time it took me to decorate 30 cookies! (and i even skipped out and went to using MMF half way through!) ...i wasnt super happy with how they turned out but they taste pretty darn good icon_smile.gif

Anywho all of you that can do cookies! Good for you! because those things take skill and patience! WTG! icon_smile.gificon_smile.gif

Very kind of you to take the time for such a nice post! As a "cookie person", I appreciate it. And have to return the compliment to you cake decorators!! I continue to be completely intimidated by cakes!

Yeah, it helps to be a bit "cookie obsessed" when it comes to decorating the little buggers. I don't know why I like doing them so much, but even with the time involved, I enjoy doing them more than decorating cakes. Go figure.

I love decorating cookies!!! Like what GeminiRJ says you really gotta enjoy doing them to have the patience for all the work cose there is alot of it...and it kills your back lol.

I am sooooo SLOW at making them which is annoying but then again i choose such complicated design sometimes (well for me lol), but i choose them cose i enjoy challenging myself to try and get a good looking cookie icon_wink.gif

Lots of great cookie decorator's to inspire to like GemininRJ and SweetDreamsAT!!!!! Oh and even though she hasn't written on this post can't leave out TracyLH!

Do you guys have any advice on how to do cookies faster? Do you have like a few couplers, bags and a few of the same piping tips to work with to make it faster?

Love any advice icon_smile.gif

Yes do! and have fun!!! Doesn't matter how long we take cose hopefully we will get faster soon lol

I only do cookies occasionally and MAN is it work!!!!! And some of the gorgeous pix I see on here...I can't believe someone would put all that work into one cookie someone is going to crunch into! LOL not sure why I don't feel that way about cake....but for some reason cookies just seem like more work!

I have a friend that I have made many celebration cookies for- and she freezes every single one!!!! I started giving some to her husband with instructions to eat them whenever I give them any! I keep telling her I have plenty of pictures!

i have the same prob with my mum, i made her a rose cookie bouquet for her b'day and she refuses to eat them cose they are too pretty!! Ahhhh lol

lol okie i did more!! however i couldnt bring myself to do the whole cookie with RI so i used MMF and RI accents. They turned out a bit better....still need lots of practice tho icon_razz.gif
