Luster On Bc??? Help Please!

I have been having a meltdown about this cake.

My question is, if I pipe scrolls in bc and let it harden in the fridge can I paint luster dust on it?

I use crusting buttercream. After my buttercream crusts, I paint over my piping all the time with everclear/luster dust and have no problems. Don't know how it would work with a non crusting buttercream, sorry.
